Ladies and Gentlemen! It is finally here! My first horror game-related post! Hoorah hoorah!
I’ve been putting off a game-related article for far too long because I’ve been doing extensive research and there aren’t that much Asian-made horror games out there (most of them are from Japan also) to write about. But I guess, today is the day that I share some seriously awesome info with everyone. This is The Evil Within.
The Evil Within, known in Japan as Psychobreak (サイコブレイク) is a survival horror game developed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of Biohazard (a.k.a. Resident Evil!!!) and is the first game to be made by his studio, Tango Gameworks. The game is also produced by Bethesda. The game will be released in XBox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and next-gen consoles in 2014. The game was actually revealed on April 25 of last year under the working title “Project Zwei” and Shinji Mikami has already announced that this game will be his final directorial work.
“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” said Mikami. “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”
How EXCITING is this?!
Just yesterday, IGN officially released the first live-action teaser trailer of the game and on April 22nd, they will be having a exclusive first look at the game and a behind-the-scenes at Tango Gameworks. Check out their post for more details
“When Detective Sebastian and his partner rush to the scene of a gruesome mass murder, a mysterious, powerful force is lying in wait for them. Witnessing the killing of fellow police officers one after another, Sebastian is then attacked and loses consciousness. Waking up in a land where monsters are wandering about, Sebastian has to fight his way through a world of death and its close friend madness in order to understand what’s going on. Sebastian has to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.”
