NBC Renews Grimm But No Word On Hannibal

Jason McDonald

The time has come for NBC to announce which of it’s dramas will be returning in the coming season and there’s news of both varieties for fans of horror.  NBC put out a list of the five dramas that it would be renewing for another season and among them are: Parenthood, Revolution, Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire and Grimm.

So rest easy fans of Grimm, your show is returning for a third season.  Given that the show remains NBC’s fourth highest rated drama I don’t think the show has to worry about being cancelled anytime soon.

However, there’s a surprising omission from the list.  At this point NBC hasn’t decided whether or not to renew Hannibal for another season.  Despite the praise from critics and positive fan reaction, the show really isn’t pulling in huge numbers.  The buzz seems to be that Hannibal will most likely get a greenlight, but if the ratings don’t turn around I can’t imagine the series will have a long lifespan.

Excellent news about Grimm, I just really really hope that Hannibal gets picked up as it’s shaping up to be a classic.
