The Philm Company (which I like to pretend is owned by Pharrell) has announced that they’ve acquired the financing for their latest film: The Last Showing.
Screen Daily is reporting that Phil Hawkins will write and direct the project which centers “on a recently demoted projectionist who traps a young couple inside a cinema with plans to use the CCTV cameras to create his own horror film.”
The film is set to start production this summer, so casting and other updates should follow soon. Talks are underway to find a distributor in the US and UK the Philm Company hopes to have the film ready in time for Cannes.
Stay tuned for more details! As soon as I know more, you’ll know more. Or maybe vice versa.
