Arrow Video to Unleash Mario Bava’s Black Sabbath onto Blu-ray & DVD

I’m pretty sure many of you are firmly familiar with the wonderful folks over at Arrow Video, but those of you who aren’t, you are in for one hell of a treat. These guys take classic films and remaster them, often unleashing lost footage and even hard to find versions of the film and commit them to DVD & Blu-ray, in some instances for the very first time.

Today, we have just got word that Arrow Video will be unleashing Mario Bava’s stylish horror classic Black Sabbath onto DVD & Blu-ray this May 13th for the very first time in the UK, and we have all the details you need.

  • High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentation of two versions of the film; ‘I tre volti della paura’ – the European version with score by Roberto Nicolosi and ‘Black Sabbath’ – the re-edited and re-dubbed AIP version with Les Baxter score, on home video for the first time.
  • English SDH subtitles for English Audio and a new subtitle translation of the Italian audio.
  • Audio Commentary with Bava biographer and expert Tim Lucas.
  • Introduction to the film by author and critic Alan Jones.
  • “A Life In Film” – An Interview with star Mark Damon.
  • “Twice the Fear” – A new featurette examining the differences between the two versions of the film.
