Check Out the Sales Trailer for Odd Thomas

Jason McDonald

This isn’t a theatrical trailer that you would see in theaters (though it could be), this trailer for Odd Thomas is a sales trailer used to entice distributors and such.  Nonetheless, it looks pretty damn good.

Odd Thomas is based upon the Dean Koontz books of the same name.  The story centers around a short-order cook named Odd Thomas who has the ability to communicate with the dead.  These powers give Odd an insight into the world around him and let him know when terrible things are about to happen.  Thomas soon learns that a great disaster is about to befall his small town and it’s up to him to stop it.

The film stars Anton Yelchin as Odd Thomas along with Addison Timlin, Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nico Tortorella and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.  Everything about the film looks pretty promising except for one thing: It’s being directed by Stephen Sommers who also handled the Mummy series, Van Helsing and GI Joe.

No offence is meant, but the guy can be hit or miss.  Hopefully this movie is more like The Mummy and less like Van Helsing.  Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

I will definitely see this when it comes out! Loved the books…hopefully they didn’t stray too far from the books.

the biggest differences ive read from an interview with Dean was Odd mostly has visions rather than seeing the ghosts, ozzie isnt a novelist and dean actually liked this film, rather than others based on his work
