Kurt Russell & Peter Sarsgaard Do Battle with Cannibals in Bone TomahawkHere is one project that I am anxious to check out. If you too like the sound of Kurt Russell and Peter Sarsgaard starring in a cannibalistic flick, head on down below as we have the first details for you guys to chew on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,  Kurt Russell (Deathproof), Peter Sarsgaard (An Education), Jennifer Carpenter (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood), are all cast in the upcoming flick Bone Tomahawk.

Recently the film received financing and has pre-sold to Magnolia for U.S. distribution. S. Craig Zahler makes his directorial debut with the feature. Craig’s big claim to fame is his dark western script The Brigands of Rattleborge won the #1 top position on the Black List for best unproduced screenplay.

Bone Tomahawk’s synopsis is as follows;

The movie follows an outlaw who unknowingly leads a band of cannibalistic Troglodytes into the peaceful western town of Bright Hope. When the monsters kidnap several settlers a small rescue party journey into hell to try and rescue them.

Its good to see Kurt Russell back in the saddle in what could be mistaken as a remake of Antonio Bird’s 1999 horror movie Ravenous which starred Guy Pearce and yes… you guessed it is about cave dwelling cannibals.

Kurt Russell rocketed to fame for most genre fans with his work in the Escape from films. Snake Plisken to this day is one of the greatest anti heroes every portrayed in film and its unfortunate that Hollywood has failed repeatedly to get Escape from Earth off the ground.

Add to the mix Jennifer Carpenter and Peter Sarsgaard and you have a pretty solid film. Here is hoping we get to have a Mexican stand off! Jennifer Carpenter may be best known for her work in DEXTER but its not the only feather in her cap and she has proven to be an incredible talent as was shown in Quarantine.
