It’s the movie that refuses to stay dead. The idea of a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie has been kicking around for years. The first time it popped up on my radar Natalie Portman was attached to star. When that version failed to pick up any steam, other actors and directors hitched their name to the project in hopes of getting it to screen. Obviously, none of them met with any success.
And now there’s another actress and director looking to take up the challenge. Can they do what others could not? I hope so. Actress Lily Collins (The Blind Side) and Director Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud) have just been attached to the project. The intention is to get the film done and ready in time for Cannes so that the production company can sell it to a distributor.
For those that don’t know the significance of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, it was originally a book written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) which kicked off a whole phase of infusing classic books/figures with monsters. At the time it was a completely original and brilliant idea, but without the context it doesn’t seem as novel.
So what do you think about the recent developments? Excited? Let us know!
