Under the Dome Gets a New Trailer

Jason McDonald

CBS is continuing to rev the hype machine for it’s upcoming summer special, Under the Dome, by releasing another trailer.  The 13-part series, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, will run throughout this summer on CBS starting on June 24th.

The series is being directed by such talents as Jack Bender, Niels Arden Oplev and Kari Skogland.  Meanwhile, Brian K. Vaughan and Stephen King are handling the writing duties.  Vaughan actually dropped an interesting tidbit about the ending of the series in a recent interview with SFX.

“There’s sort of a perhaps slightly different explanation for the dome. I nervously pitched Stephen King what a different version of the ending might be. He was very supportive of it, and very complimentary. He said, ‘I wish I’d thought of that.’”

“Which,” laughs Vaughan, “I suspect is just Stephen being kind, but he’s been great.”

It wouldn’t be a Stephen King project if there weren’t alterations to the story! There’s a brand new trailer for the series and you can check it out below, it features a pretty decent rendition of Watchtower.

I love and live for king page to screen adaptations. I just wish we could see The Regulators ( Bachman) or Rose Madder filmed before anymore newer novels get “the treatment”.
Still though, I’m pretty anxious to see this interpretation.
