Warner Bros. Picks up How to Catch a Monster

Cannes Film Festival hasn’t even begun and yet the first major sale has been made.  Deadline broke the news today that Warner Bros. has paid $3 million for the U.S. distribution rights to How to Catch a Monster.

The supernatural thriller is being written/directed by Ryan Gosling and stars Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, Ben Mendelsohn and Rob Zabrecky.  This film will mark the directorial debut of Ryan Gosling who has proven to be quite the talent over the last few years.

In the film, a single mother is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.

The film is still being shot, so there’s no word on when it’ll come to theaters.  But when I know, you’ll know.  Or vice versa.
