Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral Hits Blu-ray This August

AntiviralposterI for one am absolutely intrigued to check out Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral. I think the film has potential, and I’m sure being a Cronenberg simply clinches the deal. Perhaps you guys missed this one during its initial VOD run, but do not fret as the film is making its way to home video and we have the early word.

Antiviral is set to hit Blu-ray this August 6th via MPI Home Video, but unfortunately details regarding specs and artwork are still to be confirmed, so stay tuned for future updates.

Antiviral stars Caleb Landry Jones, Sarah Gadon, and Malcolm McDowell.

Synopsis: “Antiviral follows Syd March, an employee at a clinic that sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans. Biological communion – for a price.  Syd also supplies illegal samples of these viruses to piracy groups, smuggling them from the clinic in his own body. When he becomes infected with the disease that kills super sensation Hannah Geist, Syd becomes a target for collectors and rabid fans. He must unravel the mystery surrounding her death before he suffers the same fate.”
