First Official Photos from the Curse of Chucky

Who here is excited for Chucky’s return? While I was never much a fan of the franchise, I really loved the first film, but soon after, things started to turn sour. Now, with the promise that Curse of Chucky, will resort to a darker tone, I am totally on-board for this sucker.

So, with the release set for DVD and Blu-ray this Fall, the folks over at IGN have scored a couple of official stills and we have them for you below.

The film stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, “True Blood,” “Deadwood”), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “General Hospital”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”), Brennan Elliott (Flight 93, Double Jeopardy), and Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings, Exorcist III).

SynopsisNica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Look for this one this September 24, 2013.

I am very curious about it. I like the first part, and also think part 4 is very funny. parts 2 and 3 are ok.
I am getting a little tired of this post-Nolan darker serious thing…
but it can work very well with chucky…

I personally prefer the campy comedy Chucky films with Jennifer Tilly, over the “scarier” attempts in the series. I just dont find any of them to be scary.
