With the recent news that Paramount Pictures had acquired the rights to The Terminator series, all eyes have been on them just wondering where Terminator 5 will be heading. And well, we may just have the ultimate showdown.
According to the Examiner, one version of the script for Terminator 5 is being written specifically for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which could see him play the villain in the forthcoming sequel. But, this is just speculation at the moment, so don’t hold your breath.
As for a potential plot for the fifth film, the site goes onto say that the film may actually be a prequel;
Incredibly, Arnold Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger’s remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today’s standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination.
Again, nothing has been confirmed just yet, but damn, I’d be willing to witness The Rock do battle with Arnold Schwarzenegger. What do you guys think?
