Universal Studios Hollywood Launches Contest for HHN

Jason McDonald

Are you a fan of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights? Have you ever dreamt of one day being a part of the monster magic?  Well here’s your chance!  Universal Studios Hollywood is hosting a contest to see who can come up with the best redesign of a classic Universal Monster. The winner will be brought to Hollywood to attend the Eyegore Awards on the opening night of HHN where they’ll see their design brought to life and put into the park for the Halloween event.

Some of the monsters that you can redesign for the contest include Dracula, Dracula’s Bride, Renfield, The Phantom of the Opera, The Mummy, The Wolfman, Werewolf (as in Werewolf of London 1935), Ygor, Dr. Frankenstein, The Hunchback, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Invisible Man.

There are two ways to enter the contest.  For those of us that are artistically inclined you can sketch out  a full body design of your monster along with a close-up of their face.  Don’t worry, if you don’t like to draw you can always write a one page description of your character and submit that as well.

Submissions must be received by July 1, 2013.  After that the entries will be narrowed down and a select group will be placed online for fan voting.

Of course, that’s just the bare details.  There’s a whole list of rules and stipulations you should read before entering the contest.  You can do that right here.

Good luck!
