Anna Kendrick Joins Zom-Com “Life After Beth”

I can’t recall the last time I saw a female-centric zombie film.  Certainly there have been plenty of female leads in zombie movies, but I can’t remember a film that had such a strong cast of female actresses as this one.

“Life After Beth” stars Aubrey Plaza as Beth, a once dead girlfriend who has returned to life to wreak havoc on her boyfriend’s (Dane Dehaan) life.  Also starring in the film are John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Cheryl Hines.

Now Deadline is reporting that Anna Kendrick has signed up to join the cast.  There’s no word on what role she’ll play, but I can only hope that it’ll involve copious amounts of scenes with Aubrey Plaza.

The film is being written and directed by Jeff Baena, who also wrote the film “I Heart Huckabees.”  Jeff also has the distinction of being Aubrey Plaza’s boyfriend.  I’m sure only good things can come from directing your significant other around.
