Friday the 13th Writers Team Up with New Line for Secret Horror FranchiseIt appears as if the folks over at New Line have caught their eye on something with a bit of potential. According to the guys over at The Hollywood Reporter, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers behind the company’s 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th and 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason have pitched a top-secret horror film to New Line.

Unfortunately with this being a top-secret project, details are incredibly slim, but we’re told that the project is a potential franchise starter, and for those of you thinking, “oh great, another found-footage franchise!” Do not fret, according to the site this will not be part of the found-footage, micro-budget trend of late.

Chris Bender, J.C. Spink and Jake Weiner of New Line-based BenderSpink will be producing the untitled project, with Dave Neustadter and Walter Hamada overseeing for New Line.

So let’s start getting some ideas out. What do you guys think they could be up to? Or better yet, what would you like to see?

I agree with Mike. I loved the F13 remake and would love a sequel.

Oooh, Freddy vs Jason vs Ash! (about time for it really). Or even Pinhead vs Michael Myers. Since its new line, I wanna say a mash-up instead of a sequel, but if they go with a sequel to F13th don’t be surprised if they play it out as an independent to any prev F13th film
