Michael Cera Is Creepy In Trailer For Magic Magic

Ryan Sternfels

In the first trailer for Sebastian Silva’s Magic Magic, Michael Cera has never been creepier.  The film stars Juno Temple whom you might have seen in the 2011 black comedy Killer Joe or spotted as Jen, Catwoman’s accomplice in The Dark Knight Rises, as well as Emily Browning of Sucker Punch who’s currently filming the 2014 disaster flick Pompeii, AND of course Michael Cera of Juno and Arrested Development fame.

Magic Magic follows the story of Alicia (Temple), on vacation in the Chilean countryside with her sister Sarah (Browning), Sarah’s boyfriend, his sister, and of course their friend Brink (Cera).  As Alicia’s insomnia escalates and the creepiness begins, sinister events begin to unfold leaving Alicia to figure out what is real and what’s only in her sleep-deprived mind.

The film made the rounds at Sundance, generating positive buzz, but apparently not enough for Magic Magic to warrant a limited theatrical release.  The movie’s expected on Blu-Ray/DVD August 6th, and it’s a safe bet it’ll be on VOD the same day.

I’m not a fan of indie films, but this one looks interesting. Hope you guys post a review when this comes out so I don’t forget about it.
