The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Goes Live Action

Jason McDonald

Meet “Orbit and the Asteroids.” A terrifying relic of the 1960s when people thought that clowns were appropriate mascots for little kids.  In this live-action commercial for 2K Marin’s “THe Bureau: XCOM Declassified”, Orbit isn’t the only unsettling figure hiding in plain sight.  Check it out below.

“The year is 1962, JFK is President and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear- but a far more powerful enemy than communism is threatening America.  Known only to a select few, a top-secret government unit called “The Bureau” begins investigating and concealing a series of mysterious attacks by an otherworldly enemy.  As special agent William Carter, players call the shots, pull the trigger and lead their squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within high-stakes, covert war to protect humanity.  The Bureau’s mission is clear- survive, adapt, and overcome the enemy threat.  The Bureau has been erasing the truth for decades.  The time will come for the truth to be revealed.”

The commercial also hides a few interesting viral clues.  The morse code heard below translates to “outsiders are here” and the technical difficulties card reveals the date “7/21” along with the time “13:55.”  So there may be more to come soon.
