New Red Band Trailer for Riddick Gets Bloody

Universal Pictures has just released the latest trailer for “Riddick” starring Vin Diesel.  This time it’s a red band trailer, which means it’s NSFW or kid friendly, so if you’re a child stuck in a sweat factory you should definitely not watch this.

In the latest film in the Riddick saga, director David Twohy has returned once again to handle the reins on the series he spawned back in 2000.  ”Riddick” looks as if it’s returning the series to it’s action/horror roots that made the the first film such a memorable affair.  Whether or not it’ll succeed remains to be seen, but the trailer below gives me a bit of hope.  There’s one particular scene where Riddick kills a man by kicking a machete across a room and it’s just spectacular.

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.

The film stars Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Bokeem Woodbine, and Nolan Gerard Funk.  ”Riddick” hits theaters on September 6th, 2013.
