I must admit, I’m the tiniest bit jealous of what’s going on at Universal Studios Orlando. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights lineup, but I’m dying to see two of the attractions being featured in Orlando.
The first of which is “Cabin in the Woods”, which we reported on a couple of months ago. That’s the sort of movie that seems like it was designed to be a haunted house attraction and as a big fan of the film, I’d eat my shoe if it meant I could go see it. Okay, maybe not, but I really wish that one was coming to Hollywood.
And now, from their Twitter feed, Universal Orlando has announced that they’re bringing my all time favorite werewolf movie to life with an attraction based around “An American Werewolf in London.” I never even thought anyone would try to take on that property. To be certain, the movie is popular, but it’s not the sort of movie that’s on the public conscious like “Friday the 13th” or “Nightmare on Elm Street.” I can’t imagine there’d be a huge demand for it to be a maze, but I’m certainly glad Orlando is trying it out anyways.
The maze itself will feature iconic locations from the film. The entrance will look like the Slaughtered Lamb and guests will navigate their way through places like Piccadilly and the theater. Oh, and of course, there will be werewolves. Big ones that are to proper scale.
Universal Studios Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights kicks off on September 20th. To get your tickets or to plan your trip, be sure to visit their official site.
