First Clip & New Photos for REC 4: Apocalypse

Chris Savage 4 Comments Movie Page: [Rec] 4: Apocalypse

We finally have some more footage for REC 4: Apocalypse, and I must say I am excited for this. The down side though is that the clip in question has no sound. Still, it’s the first clip and more footage, so head on down below and check it out. Also, courtesy of Aullidos, we have scored two new photos.

SynopsisAngela Vidal (Manueala Velasco), the young television reporter who first entered the building with the firemen, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.

REC is the best horror SERIES ever. It is consistent, creative and the sequences live up to the original. part 1, 2 and the beginning of part 3 has amazing camera work found footage style (american cinema could NOT replicate it in the VHS series, or Quarantine) , and when it became a traditional narrative (pt3) it rocked big time, even inspired the evil dead remake. Whoever did not watch this series is missing the best horror series ever.

The REC series has a certain visceral and unrestrained, batshit crazy appeal. First one blew me away. Not sure if the fourth is going to introduce anything original or worthwhile, but maybe that’s beside the point. Blood and gore and the pretty reporter be back :)

Shame it’s not found footage. But can’t see how they’d believably slip that into the story, without the rescuing of a family of tourists lost at sea who happen to be filmling for their Vlog ;)
