So who’s excited about NBC’s Dracula series?

NBC has posted some new stuff for their new series “Dracula”, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers ( The Tudors, Velvet Goldmine). Dracula is set for release this October, following new episodes of “Grimm” on Fridays at 10pm. Production started in February of this year, in Budapest. It looks like they are taking a different spin on the story, which may be a great idea.

Synopsis: Dracula comes to London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to the Victorian society. In reality, Dracula seeks revenge on those who betrayed him centuries earlier. As Dracula’s plans move toward fruition, he falls hopelessly in love with a woman who may be a reincarnation of his deceased wife.

I feel ya. This is going to have to be one seriously masterful show. It has alot to live up to, and it’s such a familiar story, I cant believe they are even going to attempt it. It will have to be something we havent seen before. You know?

Yes. An average horror fan has seen at least 3 Dracula’s, the Lugosi, Lee and Oldman. They are all pretty good. Another big problem, is that I find it very unlike that younger audiences can relate to Dracula’s story at all. It as a very dated story, the best things about the original romance have to be in the context of it’s time to work it’s best, and that’s something young folks have trouble doing this days.

They might appeal to the younger generations, by adding in lots of action. Guess we will have to see what happens.
