Today Universal Studios Orlando announced the final franchise to be featured at their upcoming Halloween Horror Nights event: Resident Evil. And this isn’t a maze based on the movie franchise, no, “Resident Evil: Escape from Raccoon City” is based entirely on the video game series.
Taking inspiration from Resident Evil 2 and 3, Universal will immerse guests in the world of the game series by taking them to famous Raccoon City locations and putting them face-to-face with horrific creatures. And it won’t just be overrun with zombies, notorious creatures like the Hunters, Lickers, Dogs, and Nemesis will all be represented. This maze is so deep into the video game theme that one room will replicate a battle frozen in time because the game is on “Pause.” The only thing missing is a food cart selling Jill sandwiches.
Capcom and Universal Studios are working closely together to bring the game to life for the upcoming Halloween event. While not too many maze specifics were shared at this time, they did reveal a couple of key set pieces. For instance, the attraction will start in the streets of Raccoon City much like Resident Evil 2. Guests will also travel to the Raccoon City Police Station where Nemesis is waiting for them. Journey down below to check out the teaser for the attraction.
Halloween Horror Nights kicks off in Orlando on September 20th.
