Sam Rockwell to Join Poltergeist Reboot?

Although Rockwell is in high demand, he expressed interest in working under horror master Sam Raimi who is producing the film along with Rob Tapert (The Possession) via Ghost House Pictures.

Back to Gil Kenan though…

Kenan hasn’t been around long, but proved he had a voice with the 2006 animated horror/comedy Monster House which went on to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature back in 2007.  Kenan also directed the whimsical science fiction fantasy film City of Ember, although it under-performed in the box office and with critics alike.

The script was written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, who’s recent credits include Oz The Great and Powerful.

Rockwell‘s involvement with the film isn’t set in stone, but it would be nice to see him on the big screen under Raimi‘s tutelage.  Rockwell has a very likeable presence, and sci-fi buffs everywhere will probably flock to the theaters to see him due to his role as the hysterical Guy Fleegman in Galaxy Quest and Rockwell‘s coup-de-grace in the existential science fiction film Moon.

It’s always a pleasure to see Sam Rockwell do his thing, and hopefully this venture back into mainstream movies will prove even more fruitful for his already respected career.
