Tomorrow XCom fans will finally get their hands on the latest addition to the popular tactical-alien-killing game series. “The Bureau: XCOM Declassified” bucks the trend of progressing forward in the XCOM universe and instead goes back in time to examine the origins of the organization built to be humanity’s only defense against evil aliens.
To mark the incoming release date, 2K Games has released one last final trailer to rally the troops and prepare players for the onslaught of pain and suffering they’re about to receive as they try to survive the game’s merciless campaign. Here’s what players can expect when they boot up the game tomorrow:
The year is 1962, JFK is President and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear- but a far more powerful enemy than communism is threatening America. Known only to a select few, a top-secret government unit called “The Bureau” begins investigating and concealing a series of mysterious attacks by an otherworldly enemy. As special agent William Carter, players call the shots, pull the trigger and lead their squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within high-stakes, covert war to protect humanity. The Bureau’s mission is clear- survive, adapt, and overcome the enemy threat. The Bureau has been erasing the truth for decades. The time will come for the truth to be revealed.
“The Bureau: XCOM Declassified” hits store shelves on August 20th and will release for the PS3, XBox 360, and PC.
