The Spierig Brothers to Direct Leigh Whannell’s Stem

Chris Savage

If you have a really good memory (unlike myself) you may remember that once upon a time James Wan and  Leigh Whannell were talking about an unnamed sci-fi project. But since then, they have moved onto very big things, so you can imagine that they may have been sidetracked a bit. Now however, that sci-fi project is gaining momentum and we finally have some details to share.

According to the guys over at B-D, the project has been titled Stem, and the Spierig Brothers (Undead, Daybreakers) have been attached to direct from Whannell’s script.

Whannell told the site the following;

It’s a sci-fi film in the vein of the Terminator, set in the near future. At the moment it’s got the Spierig brothers attached to direct, so we might shoot it in Australia and make it kind of an Aussie genre dream team.

So there we have it. What do you guys think so far?
