What with Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno making its worldwide premiere at last night’s Toronto International Film Festival, news has come in that a sequel is already planned and we have the early word courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the site, Eli Roth and Worldview Entertainment are already plotting a sequel to The Green Inferno. But, the sequel will not be directed by Roth, instead this one will be helmed by Nicolas Lopez (Aftershock).
At this time, plot details are under lock and key as it is still very early days. Although Roth will not be directing this time around, he will be producing the sequel.
Roth told the site;
We don’t want to give away any plot secrets, only that we want to take the story to an even darker and scarier place on all levels. Shooting begins when the rainy season ends and it’s safe enough for us to return with another ‘adventurous’ filmmaking team. We’re thrilled to produce the film with Worldview Entertainment, who has been an incredible, supportive partner right from the start.
So which of you guys were at the premiere last night? Enjoy the film? Happy to hear that we will be venturing deeper into the Green Inferno? Sound off below.
