Fede Alvarez Ventures into Hell with Dantes InfernoWhether you liked the Evil Dead remake or not, there is no denying that Fede Alvarez delivered the bloody goods. So, what’s next for Alvarez besides more Evil Dead? Well, it appears as if the demons have summoned him once more, and this time he takes his aim at  video game adaptation.

According to Deadline, Fede Alvarez is in talks to direct Dante’s Inferno for Universal Pictures. Former Strike Entertainment partners Eric Newman and Marc Abraham are producing with EA Entertainment vice president Patrick O’Brien.

The protagonist, Dante Aligheri is a knight who with the help of the poet Virgil ventures into the nine rings of hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice. In the process, he becomes an unwitting pawn in an ancient war between heaven and hell.

There isn’t much else to go on at this time as it is still very early days. But, do you think Fede Alvarez could pull this off? Sound off below.

I really don’t care WHO makes it as long as they do it RIGHT. He was limited when he did EVIL DEAD because of the source content. And although he’ll still be limited to the realms of the game, he’ll still be able to craft it into something great since its never been done before. Cannot wait.

The 1st movie was too much like the game. I hope he branches out a little bit more than that one did. It will be interesting to see it live action as well.

I love EVIL DEAD! Too bad my VOD censored the best parts.Still could see the blood and gore though. Hope one day Fede does the full length version of his short film PANIC ATTACK. Don’t know anything bout the game but if he directs it, I am game!
