IFC Midnight Acquires Something ‘Almost Human’

Almost HumanI’m pretty sure many of you, like myself, have been keeping a very close eye on Joe Begos’ highly intriguing flick Almost Human. And while we still have no word as to when this will be available, we do know who is handling the release.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, IFC Midnight has acquired the North American rights to Joe Begos’ Almost Human. As it is still early days, a release date has not been set, but with this announcement, expect one in the coming weeks.

The director of the film, Joe Begos, basically worked his butt off to create the film, not only did he direct, he also wrote, produced and acted as cinematographer on the film. And, with the help of his longtime friend Josh Ethier (who helped produce, acted as an editor and sound designer as well as starring in the film), they were able to create the film that has took the festival scene by storm.

So kudos to them for making their dream become a reality by basically working their butt’s off and taking risks.

The film also stars Anthony Ambrosino. Graham Skipper, and Vanessa Leigh.

SynopsisMark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is living inside of him.

I’ve got it on my schedule at Fantastic Fest for tomorrow night and, if in, will get a brief write up posted soon.
