DemonologistTo be honest, we haven’t really heard much on Universal’s adaptation of Andrew Pyper’s novel The Demonologists, but none-the-less, we have some brief new for you guys to chow down on below.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Herman (Conviction) has been drafted in by Universal Pictures and ImageMovers to rewrite the latest draft for the upcoming adaptation.

Robert Schenkkan was originally attached to pen the script, but there is no word as to why the rewrites are needed.

The film will be produced by Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, and Jackie Levine.

The story centers on a professor and scholar of Paradise Lost who accepts a free trip to Italy, where a demonic spirit appears to kill his daughter, and he must go on a dark journey of discovery in hopes of getting her back.

How many of you have read the original novel? Think Universal could pull this one off?
