The Poltergeist Remake Adds One More to the Fold

According to Deadline, Jared Harris (pictured right; Sherlock Holmes, The Ward) has been cast in the upcoming remake of Tobe Hooper’s classic 1982 flick Poltergeist.

In the remake, Harris “will play Carrigan, a larger than life TV personality who left the world of academia behind to become the star host of basic cable TV show Haunted House Cleaners.”

Gil Kenan will direct the film, which also stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Kyle Catlett.

SynopsisIn a revisionist take on the classic horror film, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.

        …………basic cable reality show called “Haunted House Cleaners.” I’m not sure what’s sadder: that this movie is getting remade or I could actually see someone at TLC or History making that a thing.
