Screen GemsYou ready for more zombie madness? Well, Sony Screen Gems just can’t get enough of the undead, what with the Resident Evil franchise and all, and today we bring you news of a character-driven zombie flick entitled, Patient Zero.

According to The Wrap, Screen Gems has acquired Mike Le’s zombie script, Patient Zero. At this time terms of the deal are being kept securely under lock and key.

The film will be set in a “post-apocalyptic world, “Patient Zero” features a unique hook — a protagonist with the ability to speak the language of the undead who interrogates zombies with the hopes of finding Patient Zero and a cure for his infected wife.”

Vincent Newman is said to produce the film via his Vincent Newman Entertainment banner.

According to the site, a few people have described the script as potentially reinventing the zombie genre, while others have referred to it as in the vein of The Walking Dead and Warm Bodies, and even An Interview with a Vampire, except with zombies.

So, how does this one sound to you?

Hey, I would totally be willing to give it a shot if they cast some good actors…Actually, who am I kidding, I would probably see it regardless.

I would rather see the Joe Ledger novel “Patient Zero” by Jonathan Maberry on the screen!

I was kinda hoping it would be based on the book, which was phenomenal and I always thought would make a killer movie.
