If the name Chris Pratt doesn’t ring any bells, that might start to change in the coming years. The young actor’s star began to rise a few years ago when he landed a role on the hilarious NBC sitcom “Parks and Rec”, then it climbed a little higher last year when took part in the Oscar winning film “Zero Dark Thirty”.
In the coming years his profile could grow even larger as he’s currently shooting “Guardians of the Galaxy”, the next big Marvel super hero film, with director James Gunn. Now The Wrap is reporting that Pratt could have another franchise tied to his name.
Universal is reportedly in negotiations with Pratt to get the young actor to take the leading role in the dino-sequel “Jurassic World”. Originally, it was believed that Josh Brolin would be taking on the lead role for the Colin Trevorrow directed sequel. However, talks seemed to have stalled out between the two with Brolin possibly having too much on his plate.
If he signs up for the role, Pratt will join a cast that already includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, and Ty Simpkins.
It’s also being reported that Irrfan Khan, a major Indian actor, is being courted for a role in “Jurassic World”. Khan previously starred in “Life of Pi” and “The Amazing Spider-Man.” There’s no word on what sort of role he’d be playing, only that it’s a “key role.”
“Jurassic World” is slated to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
