Hammer Unearths The Abominable Snowman for a Reboot

Chris Savage

The Abominable SnowmanAnother week, another news story regarding a reboot/remake, and this time we are heading back into the vaults. According to the folks over at Screen Daily, exclusive Media-owned Hammer will develop a new version of the monster movie The Abominable Snowman, in association with Ben Holden, the producer of The Woman in Black and its upcoming sequel.

The site reports the following;

In the new take on the Yeti myth, a scientific expedition’s illegal ascent up a peak of one of the World’s most formidable mountains accidentally awakens an ancient creature that could spell certain death for them all.

The original screenplay was penned by by Matthew Read (Pusher, Hammer of the Gods) and Jon Croker (The Woman In Black: Angel of Death, Desert Dancer). The new version is said to have a modern twist on the original.

Usually I’m spitting venom at many remakes/reboots, but I can totally get on-board The Abominable Snowman, but hopefully they can create something interesting. But, I guess it depends on will who direct this one.

Just one request, please no found-footage.

So, are you guys for a reboot or not?
