Happy 166th Birthday Bram Stoker.

Monster Mary

Today marks a special day in history for us vampire fans.  Bram Stoker was born 166 years ago in Dublin, Ireland.   Stoker’s gothic masterpiece, Dracula, was published in May of 1897.  Dracula is considered to be one of the best Horror novels of all time.  It has spawned countless film adaptations over the years but still one of the best versions to date remains Nosferatu from 1922.

My favourite versions are Hammer’s Horror of Dracula starring Christopher Lee and Dracula starring Bela Lugosi.

So I wish to thank Bram Stoker for filling my dreams and nightmares with vampires.  Which Dracula movie will you be watching this weekend?
