While the gaming world celebrates today’s release of the Playstation 4, there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about the future of gaming. Some of which were revealed last night during Spike TV’s PS4 All Access Launch event.
Many developers took to the stage with host Geoff Keighley to discuss some of the current projects they were working on. A few even had some previously unannounced surprises, like Naughty Dog who revealed they were working on a new Uncharted game.
However, before they dropped that bombshell, Naughty Dog revealed the first glimpse at the upcoming single-player DLC for “The Last of Us” titled “Left Behind”. It’s the briefest of teasers, but it does show that the DLC will focus on the relationship between series protagonist Ellie and her friend Riley.
“The Last of Us” is a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who’s braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
The DLC is tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2014 release.
