Mad Max: Fury Road Lands a Release Date

Jason McDonald

“Mad Max: Fury Road” has been a long time coming.  After an extended shooting period and a couple of re-shoots, the sequel to the Mel Gibson classic has finally landed a release date.

Warner Bros. will release “Mad Max: Fury Road” on May 15, 2015 in 3D.  The film is being written and directed by George Miller, who worked on the previous Mad Max films.  This time Mel Gibson has stepped out of the leather duds and Tom Hardy has taken over the role of Max.  Joining him are Charlize Theron, Nathan Jones, Nicolas Hoult, and Zoe Kravitz.

With a release date so far off, it might be quite some time before we get a proper trailer.  However, Warner Bros. has a slew of upcoming blockbusters next summer which should give them the perfect opportunity to start pushing Mad Max. I could easily see a trailer debuting around the time “300: Rise of an Empire” drops, since that film would attract a crowd who might be interested in Max.

TomHardy was the best choice, ‘hope Miller kept the spirit and the movie will be trash, dirty & wild as the first ones… Thunderdome made a turn to humanity, showing Max as a messiah… but Mel directed Passion and… U know… Hard to believe Tom will play Max, some said he would be his lost son…

OMG…another remake of another great movie! Why don’t you remake a bad movie into a good movie instead?
