Nominees Announced for Spike VGX

During Spike’s PS4 All Access Event, Geoff Keighley made the announcement that the network’s annual Video Game Award show was receiving a new moniker.  The long-running award show, which looks to recognize talent from all levels of the gaming industry, has now been simply dubbed Spike VGX.  And no, the “X” isn’t the Roman numeral 10.  That was last year.  I’m not sure what the “X” means, but I’m sure it’s gon’ give it to ya.

Today Spike has revealed which of the many games released in the 2012-2013 period are up for nominations.  The game with the most nominations this year is “Grand Theft Auto V”, which is featured in nine different categories.  ”Bioshock Infinite” comes in second with eight, followed by “The Last of US” which garnered six.

Spike VGX is set to air live on December 7th at 6:00 PM ET and 3:00 PM PT.  On the following monday spike will air highlights of the award show at midnight.  Check out the full list of nominations below.
