What with Spike Lee’s remake of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy, hitting theatres this November 27th, we have scored a new theatrical trailer for you guys to check out below. As all you all know, remakes are very much hit or miss, and many fall in the miss column time and time again, but who knows, maybe this one will surprise us?

The film stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley.

SynopsisOldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

        Wow OK. They’ve literally copied some scenes exactly. This is probably gonna be a good stand alone movie, but it won’t do the original (that was amazing) justice. Shame they even bothered remaking it.

        I know the only thing they’ve changed is from fifteen years to twenty years. The fight scene in the corridor looks exactly the same. I hope there’s some live octopus eating.
