Apparently if you were in “Zero Dark Thirty”, then you were destined to be mentioned on this site a whole bunch of times. There’s Chris Pratt who is up for a role in “Jurassic World”, Frank Grillo who is in “The Purge 2”, and Jason Clarke who has a prominent role in the new “Planet of the Apes” movie. And now Jason might get even more face time on this site as he’s up for a part in the new “Terminator” film.
Deadline is reporting that Jason Clarke (“White House Down”) is currently in talks with Skydance Productions to play the role of John Connor in the upcoming Terminator reboot/sequel that is rumored to be called “Terminator: Genesis”. This bit of info comes after the news that a young actress named Emilia Clarke is currently up for the role of Sarah Connor. Deadline also reports that they’re still looking to cast someone in the role of Kyle Reese.
So there’s an older John Connor, a younger Sarah Connor, and a yet-to-be-identified Kyle Reese. Just what is this movie going to be? The only things we know for certain are that “Thor: The Dark World” director Alan Taylor is helming this movie and that it’s being written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. One of which wrote “Shutter Island” and the other wrote “Dracula 2000”. What an odd pairing.
“Terminator: Genesis” is expected to hit theaters on July 1st, 2015.
