Red Band Trailer for Cheap Thrills

Jason McDonald

“Cheap Thrills” was a bit of festival darling, garnering a lot of praise from critics and moviegoers when it started making the rounds earlier this year.  Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to see it, but this new red band trailer has only confirmed that I need too.

The movie is the directorial debut of E.L. Katz and stars Pat Healy and Ethan Embry as a couple of guys down on their luck.  When they’re approached by a wealthy eccentric, who is willing to pay them money to do immature things, they jump at the chance to earn a few bucks.  However, things take a dark turn when the requests begin to compromise morals and endanger lives.

The film also stars Sara Paxton and David Koechner and is expected to hit theaters on March 21, 2014.  Check out the trailer below.  Keep in mind that it’s red band, which means its NSFW.

Aside from the digital projection crapping out at Toronto After Dark this year, this was one truly messed up flick. I don’t know how many theaters if any will run this but if not it is one to seek out either on Blu-Ray or VOD..
