I think the phrase “happy ending” is pretty relative when you’re talking about the world of “The Walking Dead.” However, given the way things played out in the mid-season finale, I think Rick and crew are due for another win to help boost morale.
Over on TV Guide, series creator Robert Kirkman gave a little tease about what we could expect from the upcoming second half of The Walking Dead’s fourth season.
“We started the season pretty hopeful and pretty optimistic,” he says. “We’ll open our last half of the season pretty bleak and we’ll move them to something a little more hopeful by the end.”
So don’t worry, Rick isn’t going to suddenly crap out sunshine and rainbows while Daryl starts a rock band with Carl. The show will still be as dire as ever, but it sounds like things will wrap up in a better place for our heroes. But what does that mean?
Personally, I think Rick and crew will be separated for the rest of this season and we’ll see them trying to survive on their own. Then, towards the end, we’ll start to see the group be reunited once again. Getting the band back together is as hopeful an event as one could hope for in the “Walking Dead” universe. What say you?
