It’s no secret that we’re big fans of kick-ass action movies around here. Who doesn’t enjoy the sight of a man nearly being ripped in half by a single kick? Or the majesty of a flying dragon punch crushing a man’s skull? It’s poetry in motion! Now there’s a new film coming down the pipeline which looks to blend horror and martial arts in an inventive way.
Screen Daily is reporting that Peter Cornwell, the director of “The Haunting in Connecticut”, has signed on to direct “Minion”. In the film, a farewell party for a martial arts coach takes a dark and twisted turn when the well wishers realize the man is possessed. Horror and chaos soon take over as the guests fight for their lives in a “reverse exorcism.”
The screenplay was written by Eric Gable and Ben Bostik who previously worked with producers Gudrun Giddings and Christian Arnold-Beutel on other projects. This will mark their first feature film production as writers.
