Jai Courtney Will Play Kyle Reese in New Terminator Film

Jason McDonald

It looks like the “Terminator” reboot has found its main cast.  Last year we learned that Jason Clarke had signed on to the project to play John Connor and that Emilia Clarke would play Sarah Connor.  Even Arnold Schwarzenegger had agreed to return to his iconic role.  There was just one question left: would Kyle Reese be back?

Variety is reporting today that the answer to that question is yes and that Jai Courtney will be taking on the role once played by Michael Biehn.  Jai recently had a role in “I, Frankenstein” and co-starred in “A Good Day to Die Hard.”

There are still no plot details for the film, but I bet its safe to assume that there are machines that want to kill humans. And maybe time travel?  Alan Taylor (“Thor: The Dark World”) is set to direct based on a screenplay written by Laeta Kalogridis (“Shutter Island”) and Patrick Lussier (“Drive Angry”).  The next film will be the first in a planned trilogy.

Perhaps they should finish the terminator story instead of ruining the franchise with an incredibly unneeded remake
