Jeff Goldblum Hasn’t Been Offered Jurassic World

Jason McDonald

If you’re a fan of Jeff Goldblum, then this bit of news comes with a “good news/bad news” tag. Two of Jeff Goldblum’s biggest films, “Independence Day” and “Jurassic Park”, will soon be getting new sequels.  However, will the actor be returning for either film?

While doing an interview with the Huffington Post for his upcoming film “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, Goldblum was asked about whether or not he would be interested in doing “Jurassic World.” To which he admitted “Yeah, and they haven’t called me for ‘4.’”  Which is why he didn’t appear in part three, there just wasn’t an offer for him.  So if the need arises, it sounds like Jeff Goldblum would be up for another round of “Jurassic Park.”  But for now, it would seem as if “Jurassic World” is moving on without him.

But what of “Independence Day 2”?

Yeah, they’ve talked to me about it and I’ve talked to them about it and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see — I haven’t read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they’re trying to put it together.

So while the new sequel might be devoid of Will Smith, it looks like there’s at least one original cast member still eager to return.  If you can’t wait that long to have some new Jeff Goldblum in your life, then you can catch “The Grand Budapest Hotel” when it hits theaters on March 7th.
