Ultra HD Trailer Released for Kane Hodder’s Muck

The makers of Muck have just released a brand new 4K “Ultra HD” trailer. On the films website they tout that this is the first horror film in 4K Ultra HD ever. Is that something to brag about? I think when it comes to film I’m more concerned about the characters and story than whether I can see every pimple on someones face.

Anyway check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.. Do you really care whether a film is done in Ultra HD?

Synopsis: Muck is the highly stylized and hyper-violent middle chapter of a true horror trilogy that unfolds like a love letter to horror fanatics everywhere. Filmed completely on the Red Epic in ultra HD without any CGI, Muck simultaneously pushes the limits of what can be done both within the horror genre and independent filmmaking.

It does look good, the image, not the content.
But we may not forget, that 4K is the picture size, it won’t make much difference depending on the compression (and lots of other parameters). Even Blu Ray discs can’t fit a movie in normal HD without compression, so unless you have it on a hard disk and a very fast computer, I don’t believe it will make any difference.

4K is a resolution parameter as well, not only size. But still, I don’t believe we have the media to see any difference.
