A few weeks ago it seemed like Nicolas Winding Refn (“Drive”) was all set to tackle a psychological horror film set in a hotel. However, an older project he had been circling has reappeared and now Refn is taking on an all-female horror film.
Making the announcement via his Twitter account, director/writer Nicolas Winding Refn let it be known that his next project would be “I Walk with the Dead.” We previously heard about this project in October of last year when we learned that playwright Polly Stenham was teaming up with Refn to write the script. At the time, Refn had admitted that he wanted to write films that had strong female leads, but he found that he kept falling back onto male leads. With Stenham’s involvement, he hopes to finally break that cycle.
Not much is known about the project at this time except for a statement that Stenham made last year when she said that it would combine a “bit of everything.”
