And just like that, the Soska Sisters have their next project, damn. Where do these girls find time to sleep?! In any event, the folks over at The Hollywood Reporter received the exclusive word that Jen & Sylvia Soska have been attached to direct the big-screen adaptation of Painkiller Jane.
Palmiotti, via his Paperfilms banner, and Solipsist Films’ Stephen L’Heureux are producing the flick. The comic was created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada.
Jane centers on the titular heroine, a cop, who, along with with her best friend and partner, goes undercover into an interconnected drug ring. When her identity is exposed, Jane is tortured, which leaves her with preternatural regenerating abilities and a high tolerance for pain.
It is still very early days, so this is pretty much all the information we have to go on at the moment, but I’m sure we will be learning a hell of a lot more in the coming months, and with the Soska Sisters attached, you just know we are in for one heck of a hellish ride!
