It was reported last year that Danny Trejo and Vinnie Jones (from The Midnight Meat Train) will team up they try and defeat a serial-killer and fear The Reaper as he looks creepy in the released trailer. And after a long post-production process, we finally scored the trailer that showcases one of the most bad-ass duos that could team up on the big screen.
The latest Danny Trejo movie seems to be one of many supernatural horror films Trejo has starred in this year. Who wouldn’t be curious to take a gander at movie titles such as Volcano Zombies and L.A. Slasher if they have Trejo to star in them? As long as he’s starring, we can expect a certain amount of gratuitous blood and plenty of killings with sharp objects, right? And it looks like the movie delivers on this promise.
And I will never forget Vinnie Jone’s performance in The Midnight Meat Train as it is the scariest horror-fest on wheels I have ever seen. Period. But it looks like Jones is portraying an ex-con with a little bit (maybe just a tiny, tiny bit) of a moral compass in this one and that’s refreshing considering the characters he has played in the past.
An electric chair execution of a wrongfully accused man goes horribly wrong, unleashing an unholy being on the surrounding community who name him “The Reaper” as he seeks revenge on the unjust.
When a young and attractive hitchhiker stumbles into a mysterious town with a dangerous serial killer on the loose, she is forced to team up with a group of intimidating drifters and criminals (Danny Trejo, Vinnie Jones) in order to survive and defeat the “Reaper”.
Philip Shih directed this gem of an indie film and is produced by Alejandro Salomon who did another gem of an indie horror movie that should be coming out this year.
And here’s the trailer for anyone who is curious to see Trejo and Jones in action:
