James Wan Returns to Direct The Conjuring 2

Hot on the heels of the news that The Conjuring 2 is being pushed back to 2016, we have now learned, thanks to Deadline, that James Wan will return to direct The Conjuring 2 for New Line Cinema, as well as developing future projects for the company.

The site reports that Wan has has closed a big two-pronged deal with New Line Cinema which will involve him developing and producing modest budget flick in the sci-fi, horror and comedy genres through the shingle Atomic Monster, so stay tuned for more from Wan in the near future.

Now, you may remember where Wan previously stated that he was taking a break from horror, well, it appears as if he just can’t stay away from the genre, and who can blame him when he has unleashed some of the most profitable films in the past few years. Anyway, Wan turned to his Facebook page to address this;

I know I said I’m taking a break from horror (!), but the sequel story/ideas are really exciting…AND…I have a master plan towards a big picture/career/goal!! I’m truly excited with the future steps, and all this is towards creating/making films that I’m passionate about.

So guys, are you stoked to have James Wan at the helm of The Conjuring 2? Let us know below.

        I gave the first flick 5 out of 5 hairy eyeballs. I haven’t watched “Annabelle” yet, but I would definitely watch a sequel.
