The year, well 2045 of course, and the War on drugs in Mexico has escalated as drug Cartels use robots to enforce their operations. A Marine goes to Juarez in search for his brother’s killer who leads the robotic Cartel. And no movie at this crazy scale would be complete without Danny Trejo. What I want to know is how can a man at his age (he’s like 70 or something) find the time to be in so many movies every year. That’s it! He must be a robot! … Just kidding.
This title is slated to be released in the summer of 2015 and looking at the posters, it actually looks like quite a bit was put in into the special effects. Here is the longer synopsis for this thriller/sci-fi:
The year is 2045, the continuing drug war has caused havoc between The United States government and Mexico. Gear Side International, a robotics engineering company loses a multi billion dollar government contract due to bad practices. On the brink of bankruptcy, they sell off their technology to the Malvado cartel on the black market. With the advanced military robotics technology in the wrong hands. The cartel uses it to their advantage; replacing their enforcers, hit men, and soldiers. The cartel eventually becomes a very powerful threat to The United States.
Juarez 2045 has been in production for quite some time as a teaser/concept trailer as the feature was released back in 2011, but now we’re getting close (closer anyways) to the release. It was shot in the United States and Canada, but I’m guessing this indie movie take time to make as lower budgets dictate the movie-making process to take its good ol’ time. The film is written and directed by Chris Le and stars Danny Trejo, Blake Webb, Alex Heartman and Amy Savannah.
We’ll let you know when this one comes out with the trailer.
